Thanks to the outstanding infrastructure, you are able to experience all of the activities in the region perfectly. Action-packed sports and adventures for the whole family await right outside your front door. Here, against the picturesque backdrop of the Ennskraxn, you will quickly leave the grey daily routine far behind.

Twice the scenery ... for heights of enjoyment!

With so many mountains, it is very easy to lose your bearings. Not to worry. The simplest way is to ask one of the locals. Not only will they send you off in the right direction, they will probably share one or two personal tips with you for your next hiking expedition. The Wagrain-Kleinarl hiking area attracts happy wanderers with its traditional alpine pastures, along with mountain huts where you can savor the impressive views at the same time as you do the delicious regional food.

Twice the nature ... Refreshing hiking destinations

One extremely popular excursion destination is the Jägersee, a lake just 4 km outside of Kleinarl. Even those less-active summer holidaymakers can reach this lake in comfort, either by car or public transportation. If, however, you really want to earn that hearty snack, you will find your reward 700 vertical meters higher up: The Tappenkarsee draws hikers, not only because of its overwhelming mountain views, but also with a hut (open in summer) as well as a refuge shelter run by the Austrian Alpine Association.

Twice the family ... fun for the whole family

WAGRAINi’s Grafenberg is a destination jam-packed with excitement and variety, a world of unforgettable nature and mountain experiences – including more than 30 oversized adventure stations. Setting out from the mountain terminal of the Grafenbergbahn lift, kids of all ages can look forward to all kinds of fun and action. To begin with, your journey takes you across the Grafenbergsee to the biggest bouncy pillow in Austria (which you can reach either by raft or a footbridge). You now continue down the 20 meters-long Hachau slide to a low-ropes course, then to “Swing Forest” with a giant 12 meters-high pendulum swing. After this, you will come to a two-story climbing station, followed by the “Path of Fascination”, before finally returning to the Grafenbergbahn lift. All of the attractions on this path can also be reached with prams without a problem.

Twice the adrenaline ... where everyone kicks it into high gear

A true paradise awaits bikers in Wagrain-Kleinarl from springtime to autumn. In the Wagrain mountain-bike park, countless obstacles and trails set the pulses of freeriders pounding in pure anticipation. All of the equipment you need for the many challenges the park has in store, can be obtained right here in town. Road cyclists, too, find their own personal piece of heaven in this biking region, able to experience the mountain world of Salzburg from its most beautiful perspective.

Twice the action ... let the music play!

In Wagrain-Kleinarl, one event follows hot on the heels of the last: Whether the Hiking Cup, the official opening of Alpine Summer or the “Meadow Slalom” – fun is what it’s all about. Such as on the market square in Wagrain, where many bands perform on those balmy Salzburg summer evenings. The spectrum ranges from folk to jazz, accompanied by a fantastic culinary program in its own right, all combining to make this holiday region a true magnet for visitors in the warmer months.

Twice the enjoyment ... with a traditional touch

When our fertile meadows and pastures produce their bounty at the height of summer, Wagrain-Kleinarl becomes the scene for many traditional folk customs and celebrations. At the Pumpkin Festival, not only do you have the chance to admire some particular large specimens, there is also a wide selection of delicious foods made from pumpkins for you to discover and sample. The highlight of Harvest Festival season is the traditional Almabtrieb parade and Harvest Festival fair, where guests’ taste buds are enchanted with typical regional delicacies.

Twice the bathing enjoyment ... swimming – in all weather
